Mission Statement
"Northeast exists solely for the glory of God, to preach the Gospel so sinners can be saved, baptized, taught the Word of God and discipled for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

 Our History
Northeast began in 1984 with a desire in our pastor's heart to see a church built in Northeast Tarrant County.  We began meeting in Harwood Junior High in July, 1984 and moved to our present location in April, 1985.  We organized into an Independent Baptist Church in February, 1986.  The property had a frame building of about 1,300 square feet which we filled up in no time at all. In 1987 we completed our first building program which  consisted of the 4,000 square foot metal building which we continue to use today.. Jerry Summy is the founder and current pastor of Northeast.

Our Building Project
In 2009 we made the decision to build a 15,000 square foot building that will house a 300 seat sanctuary, offices, spacious class rooms and nurseries.  The plan was to pay cash for the building as we build.  We demolished our old frame building leaving only the 4,000 sq. ft. metal building. We completed the last inspection on our new building and we have received our Certificate of Occupancy in December of 2021 - ALL DEBT FREE!  What a Step of Faith, but God has rewarded our faith! We have converted the metal building into a Kitchen, Fellowship Hall, Pantry and Storage.  We certainly enjoy having a place to eat together and fellowship with each other around Christ our Lord.

 Our Present
The Family is very important to us. We realize that every home is different, so our services and our ministries are designed to strengthen families, support singles and encourage seniors. Our Sunday morning Bible studies are specially prepared for every age group and are presented in an understandable and practical way. The Ladies have an in-depth Bible Study each Spring and Fall.  Obviously Children and Teens have a special place in our heart as a church, therefore we provide Children's Church, Master Clubs, and Summer Camp. Our Teens have opportunity to attend a summer Youth Conference with emphasis on missions.  We provide quality Child Care for every Sunday Service.
Music is a wonderful and powerful way to express our praise to God as we worship Him.  It's a valuable part of our church through our choirs, instrumentals, congregational singing, and special music.  Our music is a blend of traditional hymns and choruses all the while being conservative in message and style.

 Missions
Just as we began as a mission from another independent Baptist Church, we are also interested in starting new churches at home and abroad.  Northeast is very "Mission Minded", in that we also support Missionaries and Mission projects in the U.S. as well as around the world.

 Our Future
God has blessed our faith and our desire to preach the Gospel.  We are not interested in becoming a large church just to be "big", but we are interested in becoming more effective in ministering to the people in our area and providing more opportunities of service for our growing membership.

Your Invitation
Now that we have told you a little bit about us, we would love to meet you and get better acquainted.  Please accept this as your invitation to visit with us.  Pastor Summy will be glad to answer any questions you might have about our church.  We look forward to meeting you! Hope to see you soon!
